Scorpio New Moon 11-12-2004

Overview:
There's a broad spectrum of planetary patterns in these days of November.

Astrologically, Uranus is the Awakener, the Liberator, the planet of revolutionary changes. Uranus has been retracing his steps from 6°48' to 2°52' Pisces, inspiring us to break free from conventional perceptions while strengthening our attunement to Spirit and our alliances with like-minded souls. Uranus also rules technology and, in Pisces, has helped to unify divergent groups around progressive goals.

His forward motion represents a readiness to take a leap and make a big break from the past. The Sabian symbol for this New Moon combines the potency of Saturn and Uranus shifting directions at this time: For 21 ° Scorpio: "Obeying his conscience, a soldier resists orders; a readiness to face the results of a refusal to follow the authoritarian patterns of an aggressive society." Mars, the planet most associated with warfare, is in a waning square to dutiful Saturn and approaching a trine to rebellious Uranus. The Red Planet changes signs less than two days before the New Moon.

As Mars moves through Scorpio from November 10 to December 25, he seeks to raise personal desires to a higher level. Mars teaches us about force, courage, and power; in Scorpio, we learn that there can be no outer peace without inner peace, and though we are not always in control of our outer circumstances, we are in command of our responses to them.

This New Moon shows us our evolutionary edges where we give away our power and where we must face our demons. It impels us to integrate our shadows and to use these challenging times as fodder for advanced spiritual growth. "Watch for the signs of the end of the Dark Night, namely a painful and persistent desire for a more intimate union with God. This feeling can bring the greatest discomfort of all, but it should be pointed out that such longing will open the person to divine deliverance" (B. Groeschel).

Astrology Birthday  Week of November 8th to the 14th 2004

We've come to the Scorpio New Moon, a time of truth or consequences, a time of exploring our motivations and clarifying our intentions. As a water sign, Scorpio seeks to develop emotional intelligence, which means neither suppressing our feelings nor projecting them onto others. One of Scorpio's mottoes could be: "You can run, but you cannot hide."

Eventually, light comes to the dark. Eventually, we see through the fears, the facades, and the fallacies. This New Moon is an excellent time to take a long, hard look at what's been buried in the unconscious, personally and collectively. This New Moon is strongly influenced by two outer planets shifting directions, signaling a rather volatile period. On November 7, Saturn begins his four-month retrograde, heightening our awareness of limits and asking us to reevaluate our methods, means, and goals. Saturn stations at 27°21' Cancer, very close to George W. Bush's natal Saturn at 26°30', hovering within one degree of it from September 23 to December 24 and returning for the final pass on June 18, 2005.

Saturn, the mythic Reaper, represents the law of karma: What we sow, we reap. At Saturn's return to its natal place, we become more fully aware of the consequences of our actions and realize that we are accountable for all that we have created. Using the Sibly chart of the United States, Saturn will station opposite the U.S. Pluto at 27° Capricorn, focusing attention on the irresponsible use of power and resources. Saturn moves retrograde until March 22, 2005 and crosses 27° Cancer again in late June 2005.

The day before the New Moon - November 11 (11/11) at 11:11 a.m. - Uranus moves forward after having been retrograde since June 10. In numerology, 11 is a master number symbolizing selfless service. The eleventh card in the Tarot is the Justice card, which represents the law of karma and is associated with Libra and Uranus.
